Message: I grew uop in a small W Va town. In the ninth grade I started reading Frost very seriously and began to write poetry. In high school a teacher gave me a little paperback cololection of Rober Frost poetry. I still treasure this book and all the memories I have of reading the work of one of America's master poets. He has always been and will remain my favorite poet. Just wish I could have met him in person. He truly was a beautiful soul.

Message: My version....inspired by The Road Not Taken

Beneath a canopy of golden leaves
I stood in quiet contemplation, then
Concerned that I might be perceived
And what my presence there might mean
I started as if down one woodland track,
Changed my mind and wandered back.
No reason could I give for that
Apart from indecision and a view
My choice was arbitrarily made
Based on the flimsiest premise. Then
I chose a track which seemed more green,
With lush grass, and deep leaf carpeting.
Deciding that the former care-worn path
Would be explored when future years allowed
(Though in truth not really believing that)
I strode purposefully into the quiet wood
Aware that in some future far-off place
I would tell of that woodland scene,
And of my decision in its leafy glade.
Convinced that in the choice I made
I changed my life irrevocably

Message: Hello, I'm writing from Cambridge, Massachusetts where on an afternoon walk this Sunday I stumbled upon the house where Robert Frost apparently spent the last two decades of his life. I'm scrounged fruitlessly on the web for more information about this period of his life. Can you tell me anything about his life in Cambridge, why he moved here, etc? I think of him always as a New Hampshire farmer and didn't realize he'd spent 20 years in Cambridge. Thanks.

Message: Thanks. very useful site. found it very useful for teaching this poem to my daughter. Being a busy doctor, by profession , and a "realist" (not the poetic type) the subtle hints in the poem were missed by me. Thanks for your help in analysing the poem. Keep up the good work. Thanks a lot.

Message: Thank you ever so much for sharing the poems, they brought back fond memories of school. I remember when he died and how sad we were as would have it we were studying about him. He was the first poet I ever remember reading and had a lot to do with me liking poetry. Well, thanks again and God bless.

Message: I am writing to thank you so very much for making this most valuable service available to the public. I am a lay, liturgical, ecclesial ministry and I needed an introduction ro my special interest, the sacrament of confirmation for young adults. The preparation for this sacrament includes an opportunity for the adolescents to reflect on which way they are going with their lives, and I thought of this poem as a great way to get into the topic with them. I just couldn't remeber anything but the author's name and by doing an altavista search on his name I was lead to your site. It's perfect, especially the lesson plan provided and the recitation by Robert Frost himself. The Internet is truly amazing.

Message: This is a truly wonderful website dedicated to an amazing poet and person. As a child I remember dining with Robert Frost in a restaurant high on a mountain in Vermont. Then losing contact, we again met during my high school years while I was biking with friends. The stories he told and his poetry have been of great influence in my life. He loved the mountains in Ripton, VT and it would be wonderful if his home could be made open to the public for all to enjoy. Thank you for sharing your knowledge of this special man.
