I am a Form Five student studying English Literature. You may have heard many praises due to your effort in this site already, but I must say it once again that this site is really good. Although I didn't read the whole site and I just concentrate on "The Road Not Taken", I learnt much. The story you link to this poem is not closely related to the poem, but it is really a touching and encouraging story. I appreciate that very much. |

I was searching for critical analysis of his poem "Stopping by Woods..." for an English course. I am amazed at how these learned critics can make this peaceful poem out to be something associated with death and darker things. Can people not just enjoy the sheer magic of his simplicity? I will go on and read more of his work on my own. Thank you for your great website. It is far superior to the numerous others I visited. Good work, he'd be proud. |

I am pastor of a rural church in northeast Texas about 100 miles east from Dallas. I plan to preach a sermon tomorrow entitled "The Soul at the Crossroads of Life." I thought this poem would be a good introduction for the sermon along with the scripture text from Christ's sermon on the mount. I remember first learning of Robert Frost when he recited at President Kennedy's inauguration in 1961. I was in the 2nd grade! When I was in high school, this poem made more sense to me than any other. Thanks for your website's help. May God richly bless you. Thank you so much for this website. I am an older adult who recently decided to go to college. Frost's poem was one of my reading assignments this weekend. When I went to the class today, my English Professor started talking about the poem. She was saying that what he meant by the two roads was his career choices. As she went on and on I got frustrated because I couldn't see anywhere in the poem a mention of any career. Nor could I see that meaning in the poem. I felt, at best, it could be major choice in life. We debated it and I dropped it because I thought maybe she had read more on Frost than the poem and knew what he meant. I love your story. Thank you. Donna Jacobson. February 24, 2003 20:54:12 (GMT Time) |

I am delighted with the analysis on offer with regard to Robert Frost. The selection of critical essays is 'spot on' for my current AS1/Lower VI class. The visual backdrop increases the attractiveness of this website and is of course, very appropriate to the dominant theme within Frost. I have been unsuccessful in obtaining critical analysis of Frost's The Subverted Flower - any pointers? Many thanks for your assistance to date. January 13, 2003 22:09:14 (GMT Time) |
