The site is excellent, I was quite pleased to find such a lot of information on the Internet on Robert Frost. 'Birches', 'Mending Wall' and the 'Woodpile' are my favourite poems, and the dialogue in many poems is very interesting & unique. I find it incredibly interesting & useful to study Frost's background and the events that inspired some of his points & subject matter. Here I must make one critisism if I may of this site. In the life-sketch section there is nothing mentioned about the death of his son Elliott, or Edward Thomas, his best friend & mentor, because I think these events had much influence on his view on life in general and had a great impact on many of his poems such as 'Home Burial', 'Out-Out..' and 'Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening'. I believe he found liberty of choice in his new-found outlook on life&death, for he often reasoned and argued with himself about which course to take himself! But apart from that, I liked the website and the compilations. December 26, 2002 15:32:12 (GMT Time) |

I have loved Robert Frost ever since we read one of his poems in high school. Now that I am in college I often find myself reading The Road Not Taken over and over again. I think I do this because I want to make sure I chose the right path for myself without having regrets in the future. November 5, 2002 05:20:27 (GMT Time) |

The site is very good indeed, and the comment on The Road Not Taken is very helpful to understand Frost's intent in this poem. However, you should make a correction at the end of the first paragraph that reads "sign" instead of "sigh." A small, but too obvious mistake. Saludos. Alberto. loved your site! your appreciation of the "american bard" shines forth! one feature that would help me in my particular quest would be a list of words or lines in frost's poems. the line "the way of a crow looked down on me" is stuck in my mind as something frost said, yet i am not having much luck locating the phrase -- or any poetic lines by frost -- on line! One wishes to heap superlatives on Frost's writing the way he writes about heaping sheaves on one another, but the effort fails. Your effort, however, does not. In providing access to Frost's poetry, you maintain the pulse of a life that lives only in a few, dear places any more, and you give stressed out academics a soft, fragrant spot to stand for just a moment. Thanks. October 15, 2002 17:17:56 (GMT Time) |
